WHO WE ARE
The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada-AM, was chartered January 20, 1993, by members of the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada who wanted to offer a morning club that would give service to children and families in the Foothills and the larger communities of Pasadena and Los Angeles. From fifteen charter members, we have grown to seventy-five and counting.
Charter President John (Robbie) Robinson brought into the club into his personal project of feeding the needy in South Central Los Angeles. Over the years, we have honored his leadership by developing a major program that delivers food to needy people in Pasadena and Los Angeles every day of the year.
We meet every Wednesday in the Fellowship Hall at the Lutheran Church in the Foothills. Optional $1 continental breakfast at 7 a.m. is followed by a business meeting at 7:30 a.m. and a program or speaker at 8 a.m. You are out the door promptly at 8:30 a.m.
When you sit down for continental breakfast at our Wednesday meeting, you will talk with professionals in law, education, science, and medicine, as well as dancers, nutritionists, musicians, business owners, sports gurus and a resident pastor. Add in lots of parents and grandparents who will bend your ear about their offspring’s latest exploits in and out of class or their alma mater’s latest sports triumph. USC-UCLA rivalry lives on!
While we focus on service to our youth and community, we are a fun group. Our Summer Party and fundraising auction is full of surprises and our Yuletide Party is a true celebration of friendship and love in the holiday spirit.
